Safety glass replacement across Essex, London, Surrey & Kent. Doors, shower enclosures, balustrades, partitions, and conservatories — same-day service from fully insured glaziers, compliant with Building Regulations.
Toughened glass is a legal requirement in many locations throughout domestic and commercial properties. When it breaks — whether through impact, thermal stress, or accidental damage — it must be replaced with correctly rated safety glass to comply with Building Regulations and keep occupants safe.
Emergency Glaziers Essex provides toughened glass replacement across Essex, all 33 London boroughs, Surrey, and Kent. We carry a comprehensive range of toughened glass sizes and thicknesses on our vans, and most jobs are completed on the same visit. For bespoke or structural glass, we make the area safe immediately and return with the correct unit — usually within 24 hours.
All replacement glass meets BS EN 12150 (toughened glass standard) and current Building Regulations. We advise on the correct specification for every job before starting work — including whether toughened, laminated, or toughened-laminated glass is most appropriate for the location.
Toughened glass panels in front doors, back doors, patio doors, and French doors replaced to the correct safety specification. All door types covered — uPVC, composite, timber, and aluminium.
Shattered shower screens and enclosure panels replaced with correctly rated toughened or toughened-laminated glass. We carry common shower panel sizes and can source bespoke units quickly.
Broken balustrade panels on staircases, landings, balconies, and Juliet balconies replaced with structurally rated toughened or laminated glass to meet current Building Regulations.
Toughened glass panels in office partitions, internal screens, and meeting room glazing replaced on the same visit. We work in occupied commercial premises with minimal disruption.

New toughened glass fitted correctly and safely. All work meets current Building Regulations and BS EN 12150.
Toughened glass (also called tempered glass) is processed by controlled thermal treatment to increase its strength. When it breaks, it shatters into small, relatively harmless granules rather than sharp shards. Building Regulations require it in locations where human impact is likely — doors, low-level windows, shower enclosures, and balustrades.
We carry a range of standard toughened glass sizes and thicknesses on our vans. Many jobs are completed same day. For bespoke sizes or thicker structural glass, we can make the area safe on the same visit and return with the correct unit — usually within 24 hours.
Toughened glass is required by Building Regulations in critical locations — doors, side panels adjacent to doors, glazing below 800mm from floor level, shower enclosures, balustrades, and overhead glazing. If you're unsure, our glaziers will advise on the correct specification before starting any work.
In most cases, yes. We carry common shower panel sizes and can source less standard sizes quickly. We'll confirm availability when you call.

Laminated glass consists of two panes bonded with an interlayer, which holds the glass together when broken. Both are safety glasses but are used in different applications. We supply and fit both.
